When you receive the cookware

Follow 3 steps in the order as given below:

1) Fill up water, mix 2 large spoons of rice flour, boil on the Smallest flame size and then allow it to cool. Repeat this procedure 4 times. (Never wash the cook pot before this)

2) Cook rice/millet/dal for the first 10 days (10 times) only on a Small flame (cooking time maybe 15-20 min )

3) Cook any food with water (soup, rice, millet, dal, khadi, sambhar, rasam etc.,) for a month on a small/medium flame. After this procedure, the pot can also be used to stir fry vegetables/meat.

4 things you should avoid while using soapstone cookware:

1) Don't boil milk or deep fry with oil

2) Never keep an empty pot on the flame

3) Don't use the cookware for tadka/tempering, however, the tadka can be poured into the food in the vessel.

4) Never use high flame. (Soapstone, a material with high heat retention, can cook the food effectively just on medium flame)
