Kadai – Everyday Sizes

This treated soapstone Kadai combines a broad open cooking surface with a rounded body for curries, dals, gravies and other moisture-based cooking.

Soapstone heats gradually and retains warmth. Natural marks, colour variation and small differences in dimensions are part of the hand-carved product.

1. Before washing, fill with water, boil on a low flame, allow it to cool and repeat four times.
2. For the first ten uses, cook rice, millet or dal on low flame.
3. For the first month, prefer food cooked with water and use low or medium heat.

• Do not heat the vessel empty; begin on low heat and increase gradually.
• Avoid sudden temperature changes, direct high flame, deep frying and tempering in the vessel.
• Cool naturally before washing and avoid harsh abrasives.
